Right now everything is moving fast, old ways are breaking down, & information empowering us emerges everyday. With that said it can be hard to see how each one of us can help creating impact as life moves forward. What do you do? From early on I have always known to give more than taking in life, & now it has expanded to wanting to help as much as possible. Each one of us finds out over time the best way to help, & it builds upon itself from there. A major concern of mine has been to reuse as much as possible, and to use local when possible. With that said, I have been shipping all of this art in reused cardboard from our building recycling and then walking the packages big and small to the local shipping office at Office Depot for the last 7 years. Recently, Lesia and I have become more aquainted with the environmental work Paul Allen, Vulcan, The Ocean Preservation, Racing Extinction, Sylvia Earl, Louie Psihoyos & Shawn Heinrichs are doing to help empower the public with current knowledge of our effect on the planet. Some of what they share is hard truths that many don't want to know, and some empowers us to make better decisions for a lot of reasons. A major issue that is consistent on all their sites is concerning the abusive practice of fishing shark for their fins. We are beginning to understand what this effect will have on environments as some species are extremely diminished. This has been documented for awhile, and many agencies are trying to end this practice altogether. But, did you know that certain national freight carriers ship the shark fins specifically to China from fisherman all over the globe? And that is Fed Ex! The UPS, DHL, and other international freight carriers along with Chinese Air Lines have even stopped this practice. We can't always decide how items get shipped to us, but we can choose to ship from more responsible carriers ourselves. It is an easy way to help something that needs help now, and you can go to any of these websites to find out how you can help more in other ways!

That is right. If you know in yourself that you are capable of helping, do it. Let us stop with the idea of being selfish and just thinking only for ourselves. Just like I said, it will always be better to devote ourselves for people who might be in need of our help. Regardless of what kind of help they need, what's important is you are doing your best to make an impact to these people. Though the situation you experienced was just petty, I am glad that I got the chance to see it!
