The last week has been a lot of fun for Lesia & I getting to hangout with some family. While here we somehow decide to start a band... and a little photo shoot went on courtesy of Kimberly Rhoades of 919 Photography out of North Carolina. These are just some of the shots. Enjoy!

“A new beginning”
5 years ago I finished this painting after just spending a week with my parents, & it was the first time they met @lalalesia. The visit was awesome, & I knew that we were all trying to repair our relationship. It wasn’t about who did what, or at what level of awareness each of us were at. It was just about seeing the other person, trying, & dealing with life as it presented itself. At the age of 13 my relationship with the parents started to be all over the place. Not so much good or bad, just radically undefined at times. Even with the changes of life one thing I never lost sight of was moments or experiences that were good, & brought our family together. This is an oil pastel created with my fingers only, no tools of a favorite memory. The title of it reminds that everyday is a choice to look at life this way. Keep trying, it’s worth it. This was the 1st piece my parents bought after deciding to go for a new life in creativity. #art #artist #create #creative #original #philosophy #grateful #thankful #try #flowers #flower #painting #passion #color #sun #light #energy #love #live #be #one #change #awareness #awakening #consciousness #compassion #pnw Recently, I have been trying to create pieces from the memories of the experiences in these beautiful places instead of going through pics as references. It may not be exact to replication, but feel it combines more of who I am in other aspects of the energy felt while in the experience.
The first piece "The Tiger Heron" was inspired by a trip to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere in Tulum, Mexico. Our guide on the trip was Pepe, & it might be one of the most diverse places I have been to in a bit. The second piece "Patterns in Paisley" was inspired by a trip early in Spring. I could tell it was time to recalibrate & balance the energy from the beginning of the year. The expanse stretched out for miles, and life seemed to dance between the harsh cycles of the wind. Enjoy and message me directly if interested in an original. |
