Freedom versus Liberty

“We are giving up our freedom for false liberty”


These 2 words (freedom & liberty) have been an emphasis during meditation, & while watching what is happening globally. As we all wake up to the fact that life is not exactly what you might have thought, then the idea of control & intention comes into play when hearing these words politically.


Freedom is an individual state, & a moral conviction concerning free will. Liberty is a subjective state open to human interpretation that allows us to interact socially. Who defines these terms, & do we really understand what the reasoning is behind liberties put in place. While in the Marines it was very apparent that I didn’t have freedom, & our liberties were limited. Later as Bush Jr, constantly interchanged freedom & liberty while creating a fake war, we lost more freedom through the Patriot Act. But, it gave us more liberty... Right?


If the recent trend in political movement towards building borders, resigning the ability for the NSA to continue spying again, changing abortion-conception laws, demonstrating hate & contempt towards others, increased military movement, & reducing exposure to the world leads to a better form of Liberty; then we will continue to lose our FREEDOM.
