artist statement: her story is a simple one for she lives in a black and white world one that is swirling with butterflies, mermaids, fish, snails, and snakes and her world tells the story of her journey as she finds her comfort in the creatures that inhabit the world she creates part of her story is displayed upon the walls that surround you here today and if you read along the lines you will see the path she travels and you will know the things she seeks to understand about herself and the world around her her story is a simple one and her story is not yet done

artist bio: dawn has been drawing since she was a young girl as a child she already knew she was an artist but as an adult she forgot who she was for many many years even though she studied art in college and received a degree in it for her efforts it was like she fell asleep inside of her own life and body and then in 2008 through a very deep personal process of transformation that it is no overstatement to say was a miracle she awakened from her long slumber and began to remember who she was and she began to paint and draw again dawn feels very blessed to have been given the gift of this remembering and her intention is never to fall asleep and forget again

dawn recently moved from los angeles to portland with her beloved 18 year old earless cat fenway and she greatly appreciates and enjoys being able to share her art with you here today
