It is a species of flowering plant native to Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Argentina's Chubut Province. Although it is found all over Portugal as well due to circumnavigation of the globe centuries ago as a world power.

They are dense with dark colored leaves, bright flower petals and tiny white flowers within each cluster. The beauty of these plants is matched with the massive thorns throughout.
